Problem with widget disappearing
Have a Samsung Galaxy S but the superclock/weather widget disappears every time the phone is restarted and has to be put back on the homescreen. Can this error be rectified please? App has not been moved to SD card.

Hi,
The developers are working on a brand new version of Beautiful Widgets. Things will be fixed.

Hi,
Have you tried to destroy all of your widgets and go in the Management Application settings and use the option Clear Data for Beautiful Widgets ?
The new version should be available during October.
Thanks

Same thing happening to me, Nexus S 4G running Jelly Bean 4.1.1. Every reboot, the widget disappears. Paid version.
Not that big of a deal, I only restart once a week or on a freeze. I can wait until October for a new version, but just wanted to report this as well.

I have tried uninstalliing and reinstalling, clearing the app data etc but the problem still remains. I hope that the new version is a free update rather than having to pay for a new version that works properly. We shall see.

@ Andy : According to the developers. This could come from the Android's system. Check if you can make an update. The next new version of Beautiful Widgets will be of course free for all of our users (like an update).
Thanks for your patience
Regards

@Leflou - I'm running pure Android AOSP 4.1.1 from Google on my Nexus S 4G and I'm experiencing the same issue of the widget disappearing upon reboot. My other widgets, including another 3rd party weather widget, do not do this.

I'm running stock 4.1.1 from Google on my Nexus S 4G. Same thing here. After a reboot I get "problem loading home widget". I have to drag the widget to the trash and then add it to the home screen again.

@Robert - is that the official OTA update from Sprint?
Devs - if it makes any difference, I'm actually running 4.1.1 on CyanogenMod 10. I did notice this issue with another widget, for the app "Tasks" from the market.

I'm also having the same problem on Nexus S 4G running 4.1.1 stock. Widgets disapear every time that I restart the phone. There is no update to the phone this is the latest update 4.1.1 is the latest.

Additionally I have noted that if USB storage is turned on and then off the widget disappears

Hi,
There's a know issue on Nexus S system that make our widgets to disapear. The developers canno't do anything about that.
A future Android update should fix this.

@leftlou, thanks for the info, I researched it myself and found this:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880
Considering this is an error on Google's part that reflects poorly on YOU when paying customers think you're just lazy devs (not the case, obviously), YOU should be raising hell @ Google to get this fixed.
Everyone on this thread, it wouldn't hurt to star this issue and let Google know it's a priority.

I saw this message on the Google forum:
So are you suggesting we just pirate your app? Or are you going to stop selling it and give us all a refund?
Because, even if it is Google's fault, selling an app that you know won't work seems very dishonest to say the least.
Support Staff 16 Posted by Leflou on 18 Sep, 2012 03:05 PM
@rbhamilton: things are not so simple. Lot of our users don't have Jelly Bean system and for now, the developers can't propose solution to fix this. They are working on a brand new version of the application and they are all focused on this (that's why there's not lot of update since several weeks).
As soon as we can propose a decent solution to our customers, we will do so.

I was searching for this same problem on my Nexus S cause I've started to have the problem of beautiful widgets disappearing since I updated to version 5.0! It never happened to me before whether I was on stock rom or custom rom, ICS or JB! I haven't changed roms now, I only updated beautiful widgets to 5.0 when the problem appeared and it reproduces itself with every reboot!
I think I may have solved it now:
1. uninstall beautiful widgets
2. reboot (not sure this is necessary but that's how I did it)
3. reinstall beautiful widgets
Done 2 reboots to test and the widgets are still there! This happens to me with some other apps as well when updating them, like twitter not showing notifications. Reinstalling solved it too.

@ken : As you specify it, most of the time, an uninstall / install solve most of the problems.

@Sally: forgot to mention a very well done for the newest 5.0 update, love the new UI and the sence-jar inverted theme I'm using for the clock makes my homescreen look slick! only complaint I have is that it takes a little while longer to display the weather information than the previous version. But in general I'm quite happy :)

Thanks Ken for your feedback ;)
The developers are working hard on improving things on this new version.
