Hi!

I use the latest version of Beautiful Widgets in my Galaxy S2 (android 2.3.4). After the last update all was fine. Now when I restated my phone the following notification appears: "Geolocation Problem. Location does not exist"
Also the geolocation is not working every time. Can you fix this annoying issue?

Same here. All was fine until the most recent update. Now I get the error all the time. But the widget still shows the correct city and weather. I just have the annoying error message at the top. Samsung Galaxy S2 on cyanogenmod 7.1

I'm also using Samsung Galaxy S2 (android 2.3.6) and I'm having the same issue. It's highly annoying. Please fix it.

    Hi,

It seems you are a lot with geolocation issue.

For each of you, I need :
    - To know the exact issue. Why do you say geolocation does work ? - Are the values good in Forecast Screen ? - Are you sure you are on 4.04 version ? - Did you try to clear the application data ? - If you answered to the 4 previous questions (and wrote here of course), please add a log (info : http//bit.ly/lvllogs )

Hi, I'm having a "geolocation" problem too.
It displays "null" all the time but if i set the location I am at manually, it finds it ok and displays it ok. I'm on 2.3.5 and the latest version of BW. It seemed to start after the last update. I've tried numerous ROM's from ICS through to this fairly stock Vodafone UK 2.3.5 and they all have the same problem with BW geolocation.

    Hi Jorodan,
I think after using my phone again for a little longer after the last rebuild (went back to 2.3.5 from ICS), I suspect the problem is when GPS is weak or unable to find a location.

In previous versions of BW, it would simply leave the last location displayed, but in this version, it displays a rather ugly "Null" word in both the main widget and the weather screen.
For example, while my phone is sat by my PC in the house, it displays Null but once I go outside, it updates correctly.

I'm not sure if the problem I am experiencing is quite the same as the guys above, as it does seem to work ok once I'm outside.

Although, what i've said above might not be quite correct since I witnessed something that kinda goes against that theory.
I discovered last week that when i left the UK and went to China for a week (so my GPS was on but my internet connection wasn't - I don't have an international roaming contract), the last location BW had updated to (i.e. the airport) displayed for the entire time I was there.
But as soon as i got back and the internet was connected again and I was back inside my house where GPS is weak, it started displaying "Null" again.
I am on the latest version (v4.04) off the Android Market.
Let me know if you want logs... just wondering if my description of the problem helps at all.

    Hi,
You exactly described the problem the last version encounter.
For now, the better solution is to use the mobile data for the geolocation.
By the way, a new release should come soon to fix this issue.

    Regards

    Hi Nicolas,
One further thing I noticed last night, if I go to the Geolocation setting and press the red X to clear all previous locations and add a new "geolocation", I can see that the program knows my location (if i untick the geolocation option, it lists the location where I am correctly) and I've checked that from inside my house I can see GPS satelites with GPS test app. But for some reason, when i retick the Geolocation option, and add the location as a "geolocation" and save and apply, it reverts back to "Null".
Fyi, Google maps gets my location accurate to 20m were I am with weak GPS.
    Hope that extra information helps.

Installed BW on LG Spectrum 4GLTE on Verizon running GB, and am constantly seeing this in the notification bar. Doesn't matter the Geo Positioning option checked, I get this error.

I've updated and I'm afraid, it hasn't fixed all the problems.

It is still displaying NULL in the widget even if I clear the location settings and add "Geolocation" as a location. It knows my current location if I untick the Geolocation option while adding a geolocation location, but it still displays NULL on the widget.

I use 3.2 on my galaxy tab 10.1. I cannot get geolocation to find me. I can't get to logs bc BW stops & I have to force close. I can't get to your server in skins market. Nothing has worked for a week. Everything ok on my samsung infuse but it still runs on the old froyo system. Only way I can get BW to work on the tab is to manually tell it where I am. Will fix come soon?

I started a new thread not seeing this one. It works, but my location is nowhere near where it says I am. It used to pick up my exact location, now it picks up the closest major city as my location.

@Shree: Are you using Google Service or Accuweather ? Since a few days, there's an issue with Google Service. Please try Accuweather until our developers can have a look on that (they are currently working on a brand new version of Beautiful Widgets). Can you tell me the name of the location you have problem with ?

Indeed isn't a BW problem, but about the ROM, I'm using a Desire HD and after some tests I've noticed that some chief are able to run GPS better than others, for example, all roms with sense working very fine, while many pure android roms didn't work at all, so,you have to test :p

from DHD with Sense 4.0 + Android 4.0.x
